Needle Rock Workshop…

moved to its new premises in May 2019. We now operate from an old stone barn, reached by a winding country lane, nestled in the Welsh countryside. Here, we have the space to work on much bigger projects. We can often have two or three projects on the go at any one time. Ali’s life has certainly been made easier by having a large table for cutting long lengths of fabric. More space has increased our productivity and the business is growing.

Our Fantastic New Look

As well as a new website, we have a new logo, new van livery, new stationary and a new look across our social media platforms. These services have been delivered to Needle Rock by Howard Adair. Howard and his wife Alyson first visited the Needle Rock workshop as customers for new sofa seating and cushions.

At this initial meeting, Howard revealed he was a graphic designer. The enthusiasm Howard displayed towards his vocation was infectious. Ali knew immediately that Howard was the man for the rebranded Needle Rock.

So, over the weeks and months of the Covid-19 lockdown, Howard has been busy creating the new website. Meanwhile, Ali has been busy creating new striking pieces of upholstery furniture, offered for sale in the online Shop. Ali has also pulled together hundreds of photos for the new Needle Rock portfolio. Together, they have made a great team.

If you have any requirements for a graphic designer; a new logo, new branding or new website, contact Howard Adair for a consultation. He comes highly recommended!

A nursing chair is a chair that’s comfortable when nursing an infant. In Victorian times the nursing chair was a low seated partially upholstered chair. Nursing included caring for children as well as breastfeeding. The low seat of the chair allowed the mother, who would have been wearing a stiff corset, to interact with small children without bending over. This chair form was particularly popular in England and found primarily in upper class homes. Nursing Chair. The types of wood most frequently used were oak, rosewood or walnut. The seat was often sprung and could be button decorated or adorned with a circumferential braid or pair of braids. The chair legs were frequently of a cabriole style or a straight-legged spindle design. Needle Rock upholstery repair refurbish new vintage period piece.
